FISHING RULE CHANGE

Sport Halibut season opens April 10 in Marine Areas 6-11 and13Action: Open recreational fishing for halibut in Puget Sound. There is a daily bag limit of one halibut per angler, with no minimum size limit. All catch must be recorded on a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife catch record card.
Effective date: open 12:01 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2007 through 11:59 p.m. June 13, 2007; five days per week, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Species affected: Pacific Halibut
Location: Marine Areas 6-11 and 13 (Area 12 remains closed).
Reason for action: This rule conforms to federal action taken by Pacific Fisheries Management Council. The Puget Sound recreational halibut quota is sufficient to cover these dates.
