ASK THE GAME AND FISH
Q. What do I need to do to hunt snow geese during the spring season?
A. We assume you are referring to the late hunt provided by the Light Goose Conservation Order. This is a special regulation that allows the harvest of light geese during the late winter and spring. Light geese include the snow goose, blue goose and Ross’ goose. Hunters must have a valid Wyoming bird license, conservation stamp and also a Conservation Order Special Management Permit. The fee for this permit is $10.50. In a departure from other waterfowl hunting, the Federal Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp (duck stamp) and Harvest Information Permit (HIP Permit) are not required during the Conservation Order season. The Light Goose Conservation Order season is only for the Central Flyway portion of Wyoming and will run from Feb. 25-April 13. Complete regulations are found in the Late Migratory Game Bird Regulations pamphlet. -WGFD-
