Colorado Division of Wildlife
Outdoor Survival Skills Seminar For Women In Colorado Springs
The Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) will host an
"Outdoor Survival Skills" class for women, Sat., March 1, from 8 a.m.
until noon, at the DOW office at 4255 Sinton Rd., in Colorado Springs.
"This is not a Hunter Education course, but an extension of the topics
covered in Hunter Ed," said wildlife officer Trina Romero. "In previous
classes, women have told us they are interested in learning more about
survival training," she added.
The seminar will cover topics ranging from what to do if you come face to
face with a bear -- to how to spend the night in a survival situation.
The class is geared toward adults, but mothers are encouraged to attend
with their daughters.
The seminar is free, but class size is limited to the first 40 who sign
up. Please call Trina Romero at 719-227-5284 to reserve a seat.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife is the state agency responsible for
managing wildlife and its habitat, as well as providing wildlife related
recreation and maintaining a balance between human activities and
wildlife. The Division is funded primarily through the sale of hunting
and fishing licenses, with some support from federal grants and the
Colorado Lottery. The Division does not receive tax dollars from the
Colorado general fund.
