REGISTRATION FOR BOBWHITE QUAIL WORKSHOP ENDS FEBRUARY 7

A bobwhite quail workshop will take place on Feb. 13 at the Carencro Community Center in Lafayette Parish from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m for Acadiana Landowners. 

The workshop will provide information to improve quail habitat on crop land, pasture land and idle land through the use of buffers, borders, native warm season grasses and prescribed burning.

Interested participants must register for the workshop by Thursday, Feb. 7 by calling Acadiana Resource Conservation and Development Council (RCDC) at 337-896-0362 ext. 3.  A meal is provided, and there is a $10 registration fee.

The workshop is sponsored by Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center, Natural Resources Conservation Service and Acadiana RCDC.

Directions to the Carencro Community Center are as follows: Take Interstate 49 to exit 4 (Hwy 726), travel west 1 mile on LA 726.  Turn right onto University Ave. (LA 182).  The community center is .3 miles ahead on the left.
