Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources News Release

 

 The thrills and chills of catching catfish in winter this weekend on “Kentucky Afield” TV

 

Frankfort, Ky. – For those who can brave the cooler temperatures, catfish are waiting in western Kentucky rivers and on “Kentucky Afield” television this weekend, February 9 and 10.

Host Tim Farmer bundles up with professional fishing guide Jim Doom of Grand Rivers in search of rod-busting blue catfish. Both the Cumberland and Tennessee river tailwaters are featured as they meander side-by-side toward the Ohio River in the far western region of our state. 

“Kentucky Afield” is a production of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. It is the longest continuously-running outdoor television show in the nation. “Kentucky Afield” airs Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern /7:30 p.m. Central and is repeated on Sunday at 4 p.m. Eastern/3 p.m. Central on KET 1.
