Prather’s Neck
Wildlife Management Area Opens January 16
ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources
(DNR) Wildlife and Heritage Service will open Prather’s Neck Wildlife
Management Area in southern Washington County on January 16.
“The property offers excellent hunting and wildlife-associated
recreation,” said Karina Blizzard, Associate Director of the Wildlife
and Heritage Service.
Since the purchase of the 204-acre parcel in 2006 with Program Open
Space Funds, a parking lot designed to hold ten vehicles has been
installed to accommodate hunters. Parking will be restricted to this
single parking lot on a first come basis.
Prather's Neck Wildlife Management Area may be accessed by traveling
south on Route 56 from Clear Spring, turning left onto Four Locks Road
and then continuing onto Ankeney Lane. Ankeney Lane ends at the
designated hunter parking lot. For more information contact The Wildlife

Hunter’s are reminded that the public land code for checking deer and
