New Boat Fishing License Decals Defective and Will Be
Replaced; License Sales to Continue
New Delaware boat fishing license decals that went on sale Jan. 1 along
with the state’s new fishing licenses have been found to be defective and
will be replaced by the Division of Fish and Wildlife when the decal’s
flaws are corrected.
The division does not expect replacements for the defective decals until
late March. However, during the interim, boat fishing licenses, which went
into effect with the new year, can still be purchased.
“We’ve made the vendor aware of the defects and are working with the
company to correct the problems and produce the new decals as quickly as
possible for distribution,” said Division of Fish and Wildlife Director
Patrick J. Emory.
Boat anglers are advised that the defective decal that comes with the
license should not be applied to a boat, because it does not adhere
sufficiently. Boat owners are not required to display the boat fishing
decal until they receive its replacement, but they should retain the
license as well as the decal for display as proof of purchase.
All boat anglers who have bought the license and received defective decals
will be contacted by the Division of Fish and Wildlife and given the
corrected version when it becomes available.
For additional information, or to request a decal replacement, please call
(302) 739-9918.
