Deer Hunters Should Heed Tree Stand Safety Advice
One fatality and two serious injuries involving falls from tree stands have been reported so far this year. “Each of those accidents involved a homemade or self-constructed tree stand,” said Capt. Chris Huebner, hunting safety coordinator for the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission. “We recommend extra caution when using homemade tree stands. When using a manufactured tree stand, be sure to follow user instructions.” Some basic guidelines for any tree stand situation:
