FIVE STATE PARKS IN SOUTHERN OHIO HONORED BY OVER THE BACK FENCE MAGAZINE

Five state parks were recently named Point Of Pride Award winners in a first-ever competition sponsored by “Over The Back Fence” magazine. The publication is dedicated to the lifestyle, places, events, people and pride of southern Ohio.

Magazine readers selected 20 regional “Point of Pride” winners, representing the greatest places in southern Ohio to visit and experience. The list is published in the magazine’s current edition. Among the 20 are:

bullet Burr Oak State Park in Morgan County - best beach in the region
bullet Great Seal State Park in Ross County - best place to hold a family reunion
bullet Hocking Hills State Park in Hocking County – best place to take a scenic walk
bullet Dillon State Park in Muskingum County – best sledding hill
bullet Salt Fork State Park in Guernsey County – best place to watch a sunset

“We’re pleased to see that the readers of this regional magazine appreciate the beauty and unique qualities of our southern Ohio state parks,” said Dan West, chief of Ohio State Parks.

“And we could not agree more with their selections.”

Additional information about Point of Pride Award winners is available in the magazine, now on sale in grocery and specialty stores throughout southern Ohio. Newsstand locations and subscription information can be found on the Internet at BackFenceMagazine.com

With a readership of more than 50,000 people, the 13-year-old magazine says that it brings together people throughout the region who love calling southern Ohio their “back yard.”
