Coast Week Celebration coming, Sept. 8-16

Come out and see the wonders of the Indiana coastal area during The Indiana Lake Michigan Coast Week, Sept. 8-16.

This week of events gives Hoosiers the chance to celebrate the area’s splendor and increase their awareness of the region’s importance to northwest Indiana. Although the Denis Sullivan tall-ship is fully booked, many other opportunities await.

The busiest calendar in the event's five-year history is posted at www.dnr.in.gov/coastweek.

A sampling includes Gary’s Clean Water Fair, Sept. 8; Portage Little Calumet Public Access dedication, Sept. 10; Purdue Calumet Public Seminar Series, Sept. 12; The Care and Feeding of Indiana Dunes State Park, Sept. 13; and Adopt-a-Beach Event, Sept. 15. The week concludes with the Trail Creek Canoe Celebration, Sept. 16.
