8/20/2007 ASK THE GAME & FISH Q. "I’m trying to find a place to hunt doves for the season opener, but don’t know where to go. Can you help?" A. A good place to start would be to get a copy of the 2007 Walk-in Area Hunting Atlas available at Game and Fish offices and license agents. The atlas lists walk-in areas county-by-county and there are many thousands of acres accessible for dove hunters. Doves are also found on a number of Game and Fish wildlife habitat areas, which are also open to the public. Mourning doves migrate out of Wyoming at the first hint of cold weather. This makes the weather during the week before the season the most important factor to dove hunting success. -WGFD-
