Women’s Deer And Elk Hunting Clinic Offered
Women interested in hunting deer or elk this fall are invited to attend
an educational clinic sponsored by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.
The Deer and Elk Hunting Clinic is set to begn Friday evening, Sept. 7 and
end at noon on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the National Bison Range near Charlo.
Participants will learn about deer biology and habitat, hunting techniques
and equipment, hunting regulations, and field dressing.
The class will include a tour of elk and deer habitat with a wildlife
biologist; learning to sight in a rifle, and experience field dressing,
butchering, and packaging the meat.
This clinic is designed for women but is open anyone 18 years of age and
older. Teachers who attend the workshop can receive continuing education
credit from the Office of Public Instruction.
The clinics are an extension of the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program
sponsored by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and co-hosted by the National
Bison Range. A fee of $35 will be charged to cover meals and other
