DNR Offers Volunteers Summer Pastimes

DES MOINES - With summer finally underway, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Keepers of the Land Volunteer Program has a number of opportunities for volunteers to get outside and make natural resources part of this summer's pastime activities.

bulletCampground Host Opportunity: Officials with the DNR are seeking volunteers to serve as campground hosts during the spring and summer camping season. The following parks are in need of campground hosts: Backbone, Lake Wapello, and Dolliver. For more information contact Merry Rankin at 515-281-0878.
 
bulletRaccoon River Clean-up Opportunity: Officials with the DNR are seeking volunteers to help clean-up the Middle and North Raccoon rivers during their annual Project AWARE weeklong canoe river clean-up event June 16-23.
