Women in the Wild - Becoming an Outdoor Woman Weekend is Aug. 25-26

WATERBURY, VT - The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is holding a Becoming an Outdoors Woman Weekend on August 25-26, 2007, in partnership with Central Vermont Longbeards, a local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

The Becoming an Outdoors Woman Weekend will give women the opportunity to learn about wildlife tracking, archery, shotgun, handgun, camping, first aid, outdoor photography, orienteering, turkey hunting, kayaking, Dutch oven cooking, fly fishing, and identifying edible wild plants. It will be held at the Green Mountain Conservation Camp at Buck Lake in Woodbury.
Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) began in 1991 with a program offered through the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. More than 80 weekend-long workshops are held annually across North America.
