ASK THE GAME & FISH

Q. "Does my 12-year-old need to prove he’s taken hunter education to apply for a big game license?"

A. The law does not require that he show his hunter safety card to buy a license over the counter or apply in the drawing. Wyoming law requires hunter education for anyone born after 1965. Compliance to the law is checked in the field, which means hunters born after 1965 must carry their hunter education card or certificate with them while hunting.
