ROSEBURG – Proposed tag numbers for 2007 big game
hunts and expansion of the year-round cougar hunting area in Jackson
County will be discussed at a local Oregon Department of Fish and
Wildlife big game review meeting. Public comments will be collected.
The public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 24 from 7 – 9
p.m. at the ODFW office, 1495 East Gregory Road, Central Point.
Local wildlife biologists will outline proposals for the fall 2007
big game hunting seasons, including new or modified hunts, number of
controlled hunt tags to issue, and the big game hunting regulations.
Biologists also will present proposals for a new youth elk hunt and
expansion of the year-round cougar hunting area in Jackson County for
2008.
This same information also was presented as part of the regularly
scheduled Oregon Hunters Association informational meeting on May 10
in Medford.
