Turkey, Archery in the Schools Championship in the
Sights of "Kentucky Afield" TV This Weekend
|
Frankfort, Ky. – In spring, archery may not carry the pageantry of NCAA
basketball, but to the 1,500 students who competed in the 2007
Kentucky
Archery in the Schools championship tournament, there’s even more
excitement.
“Kentucky Afield” television has in-depth coverage in the quiver this
weekend, April 14 and 15.
Host Tim Farmer joins archers, grades 4 – 12, from across the Commonwealth
in Louisville’s International Convention Center with one goal in mind –
bull’s eyes. Olympic–style archery; however, has also helped these kids
target better grades and higher self-esteem. “Kentucky Afield” cameras
answer how with a behind the scenes look at the Archery in the Schools
program and a front row seat at this year’s tournament.
Also, with wild turkey season opening this weekend, now’s the time to
sharpen your skills. Farmer shares advice on shotgun patterning, camouflage
and calling techniques that will have you speaking fluent turkey.
“Kentucky Afield” is a production of the Kentucky Department of Fish and
Wildlife Resources. It is the longest continuously-running outdoor
television show in the nation. “Kentucky Afield” airs Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
Eastern /7:30 p.m. Central and is repeated on Sunday at 4 p.m. Eastern/3
p.m. Central on KET 1.
