4/9/2007 Hunter safety course offered in Jackson County The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering a free three-day hunter safety course in Jackson County. The course will be in the cafeteria of Cottondale High School, 2680 Levy St. in Cottondale. Instruction will take place 6-9 p.m. April 20 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 21. The firing-range section of the course is scheduled for April 22. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Students are encouraged to bring a pencil and paper with them to take notes. The hunter safety course is required for anyone born on or after June 1, 1975 to purchase a hunting license. The FWC course satisfies hunter safety training requirements for all other states and Canadian provinces.
