different The service is meant for a wide variety of participants, for instance, a hunter looking to scout out a specific area or a hiker interested in what animals or plants may be on a specific trail. NDOW foresees a large portion of the state’s wildlife enthusiasts having a use for the mapping service. This internet mapping service is designed for customers with high speed internet connections. Those customers with a dial-up connection may experience difficulties in navigating this service. Significant funding for the map server was provided by the Nevada Biodiversity Initiative and State Wildlife Grants. The map server is maintained by the NDOW’s Wildlife Diversity Bureau, which also supplies the equipment and other infrastructure required for its operation. The NDOW Internet Map site can be accessed at http://www.ndow.org/learn/map_project/index.shtm. The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) protects, restores and manages fish and wildlife, and promotes fishing, hunting, and boating safety. NDOW’s wildlife and habitat conservation efforts are primarily funded by sportsmen’s license and conservation fees and a federal surcharge on hunting and fishing gear. Support wildlife and habitat conservation in Nevada by purchasing a hunting, fishing, or combination license. For more information, visit www.ndow.org.
