SOUGHT-AFTER BOWHUNTER EDUCATION CLASS OFFERED IN EVANSTON MARCH 3

EVANSTON - It may not be mandatory in Wyoming, but bowhunter education is touted by many experienced archers and is required in many other states, so the course is being offered March 3 in Evanston.

The class will run 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Bear River Center building. Pre-registration is required and the class fee is $5.

Class coordinator Bill Jackson says a portion of the class will take place outside and students should wear comfortable footgear and dress for the weather. "We give the students an opportunity to track an animal in varying terrain so the class is more hands on," Jackson said.

Bowhunter education is not required to bowhunt in Wyoming, but when offered the classes are very popular. "It teaches a lot of great skills for the beginner and experienced bowhunter alike," Jackson says.

The class uses the internationally recognized curriculum of the National Bowhunter Education Program. Completion of the course satisfies the bowhunter education requirement of nearby states, including Nebraska, South Dakota, Montana, Kansas and Idaho.

For more information or to pre-register for the course, call Bill Jackson at (307) 789-1770.

Anyone needing special accommodations for the class should contact the Wyoming Game and Fish Department for special arrangements.
