CHEYENNE - Black bear hunters who want to use baits for the upcoming bear seasons are advised that dates for registering bait sites have changed from previous years.

Persons who had bait sites registered the previous calendar year shall have a preference period of March 1-March 20 to register the same site. In previous years, the period for this preference registration was March 5-March 31.

After the preference period deadline on March 20, the Game and Fish will accept applications beginning April 1 for sites that are unclaimed. Following the preference period, first time registration of bait sites shall be accepted in person at any Game and Fish regional office.
