Game and Fish offers free basic archery
class for youths
PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish
Department is offering a free archery fundamentals class for young people
ages 8-18 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix. The class consists
of three 90-minute segments, one each on Feb. 10, 17 and 24. Participants
have a choice of two sessions on those Saturdays: 9 to 10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m.
The class teaches international-style target archery, with a focus on safety
and archery basics. Equipment will be provided. Each session will be limited
to 24 students.
The class is free, but pre-registration is required. To register, contact

which you would like to register.
The Ben Avery Shooting Facility is located at 4044 W. Black Canyon Blvd. in
Phoenix. To get there, take I-17 to the Carefree Highway exit. The shooting
facility entrance is off Carefree Highway, about ¼ mile west of the exit.
