ASK THE GAME & FISH

Q. "Is it legal to use a lighted lure while ice fishing?"

A. Not if it is a light-producing lure. However, glow worms and baits chemically enhanced to produce a natural light are allowed. The key here is natural light that is magnified or enhanced is not defined as artificial light. The law governing use of artificial light is applicable to all fishing, not just ice fishing.
