Black River flood prone region reopens

CORNING – Receding waters in northeast Arkansas have allowed the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to reopen deer hunting in the Black River flood prone region.

When water on the Black River gauge at Corning exceeds 11 feet, deer hunting is immediately suspended until water levels fall below 9.5 feet on the gauge.

Current gauge readings and flood prone region closures are available by calling the AGFC toll-free at (800) 440-1477 or by checking the agency's website at www.agfc.com.
