ASK THE GAME & FISH

Q.  “Where I hunt elk is near the border of two different areas. I was wondering what the rule is if I shoot an animal but it runs into the bordering hunt area? Can I continue to track it and finish it off?

A.  That’s a good question – and kind of a tough one. You would need to contact the district game warden before pursuing the animal. Likely permission would be granted – but there could be some conditions depending on the circumstances.
