| 11/20/2006 2007 BEAR SEASONS DISCUSSED AT PUBLIC MEETINGS/OPEN HOUSES DEC. 4-6 CASPER – Extending black bear area 7, commonly referred to as Laramie Peak, south to the Colorado border and increasing the area’s female mortality quota to four in the spring and three in the fall, highlight 2007 black bear regulation proposals to be discussed at public meetings in early December. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is also proposing to make black bear hunting bait sites nontransferable and making a false statement on a bait site registration a violation of Game and Fish Commission regulation. The time period to renew bait site registration would be changed to March 1-20 and new registration can begin April 1. Area 9 (Sierra Madres east of Baggs) female mortality quota would also be increased to four in the spring and three in the fall and a fall season is proposed for area 10 (Uinta) with a female mortality quota of one. The fall season in area 11 would be extended to Nov. 15 in 2007 to be consistent with other Greys River hunt areas. All interested parties are encouraged to attend a public meeting or open house discussing the proposals:
