ASK THE GAME & FISH
Q. "Why is wearing blaze orange required for pheasant hunters on Game and
Fish habitat areas and not on other areas?
A. Game and Fish units frequently receive much more hunting pressure than
other private or public lands where birds might be found. Wearing hunter
orange was implemented on these areas and the Glendo Pheasant Hunt as an
added safety measure to make hunters more visible. Wearing hunter orange for
bird hunting is not required on other areas, but is certainly recommended as
an added safety measure. Areas where hunter orange is required for bird
hunting are listed on page 4 of the upland game bird regulations.
