Permission is required
to hunt on private land |
LITTLE
ROCK - Arkansas deer hunters are reminded that they are required to
obtain permission from landowners before they hunt on private
properties. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission approved the
regulation in June 2002.
The rule states that it will be unlawful for any person to hunt, fish or
trap wildlife on private property of another person without having first
obtained verbal or written permission from a landowner or lessee of the
property. However, if the property is lawfully posted or fenced
according to existing state law, the person must carry written
permission from a landowner or lessee of the property.
The written permission must include the name of the person permitted
upon the property, the signature and telephone number of the landowner
or lessee, and the beginning and ending dates of the permission period.
Written permission will not be required of close relatives of the
landowner or lessee - verbal permission will be sufficient. The penalty
for violating the regulation will range from $100 to $1,000. |
