Hunters asked to take deer to bio-data stations
LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is again making a concerted effort to collect biological data and Chronic Wasting Disease samples on the deer harvested and checked this year around the state. This year, biologists will be sampling the northeastern White County area and southeastern Arkansas.

Biological data, including weight, age and antler characteristics are necessary to monitor the state’s deer population and to make informed management decisions.

Regional biologists want to collect data on as many deer as possible.  To accomplish this, AGFC personnel will again set up biological data collection stations at some of the most popular check stations during the first weekend of the upcoming modern gun season.

The following stations in White County will be set-up Nov. 11:

Bald Knob Banner          Ark. Highway 367 North, Bald Knob

Garner's Shortstop         Ark. Highway 16 near Sunny Hill

J&T Feed and Supply     Denmark

Pa Pa's Ark. Highway 157 near Sunnydale

Plainview Farm Supply   Plainview

Velvet Ridge Grocery      Velvet Ridge

Vest Short Stop Main Street, Pangburn

The following stations in southeast Arkansas will be set-up Nov. 11-12:

Half Moon Deer Processing         24 B & K Lane, DeWitt

DJ's One Stop  8885 Hwy 79 South, Watson Chapel

AGFC Southeast Regional Office 771 Jordan Drive, Monticello

Vacant lot between Frizzell Shopping Center and Reeds Pawn Shop          Star City
