Hunters asked to take
deer to bio-data stations |
LITTLE
ROCK - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is again making a concerted
effort to collect biological data and Chronic Wasting Disease samples on
the deer harvested and checked this year around the state. This year,
biologists will be sampling the northeastern White County area and
southeastern Arkansas.
Biological data, including weight, age and antler characteristics are
necessary to monitor the state’s deer population and to make informed
management decisions.
Regional biologists want to collect data on as many deer as possible.
To accomplish this, AGFC personnel will again set up biological data
collection stations at some of the most popular check stations during
the first weekend of the upcoming modern gun season.
The following stations in White County will be set-up Nov. 11:
Bald Knob Banner Ark. Highway 367 North, Bald Knob
Garner's Shortstop Ark. Highway 16 near Sunny Hill
J&T Feed and Supply Denmark
Pa Pa's Ark. Highway 157 near Sunnydale
Plainview Farm Supply Plainview
Velvet Ridge Grocery Velvet Ridge
Vest Short Stop Main Street, Pangburn
The following stations in southeast Arkansas will be set-up Nov. 11-12:
Half Moon Deer Processing 24 B & K Lane, DeWitt
DJ's One Stop 8885 Hwy 79 South, Watson Chapel
AGFC Southeast Regional Office 771 Jordan Drive, Monticello
