| Two public meetings in the afternoon
and evening are scheduled Thursday, Oct. 5, on the proposed Lake Davis
Pike Eradication project’s joint draft environmental review document.
The two sessions in Sacramento are scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 6
p.m. to 9 p.m. at National University, Room 120, 9320 Tech Center Dr.
The public will be able to provide verbal and written comment on the
Department of Fish and Game’s (DFG) and Plumas National Forest’s (PNF)
joint Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS)
for the proposed project. Written comments may also be submitted by
e-mail by going to the Web site at
www.dfg.ca.gov/northernpike,
by fax (916-445-4044), hand-delivery, or U.S. mail to: Lake Davis Pike
Eradication Project, Department of Fish and Game, 1812 Ninth St.,
Sacramento, 95814.
Two hearings were held last week in Portola. The public comment period,
which began on Sept. 1, will end Oct. 16.
The Draft EIR/EIS was prepared by Entrix, Inc. for DFG and the PNF.
The Draft EIR/EIS addresses the potential environmental effects that
could result from the proposed project, as well as proposed project
alternatives. An Initial Study was prepared and distributed in September
2005.
The Draft EIR/EIS and supporting documents are available on the DFG
