Muzzleloader clinic and hunt for women offered
Media contact: Linda Bylander, BOW coordinator, (218) 833-8628.
Women have an opportunity to participate in a muzzleloader clinic and deer
hunt through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ Becoming An
Outdoors Woman (BOW) program.
The BOW muzzleloader hunting clinic will be Sunday, Oct. 8. The hunt will be
Dec. 2-3. Both activities will be on the farm of Dan and Betty Wilkens in
northern Kanabec County.
The muzzleloader program will provide women the opportunity to shoot various
types of muzzleloaders and see experts in the field demonstrate these unique
guns. The cost is $25 for the clinic and $85 for the weekend hunt. The cost
includes shooting supplies and the use of a muzzleloader if the participant
does not own or have access to one.
To preregister, which is required, contact Betty Wilkens at 1646 290th Ave.,
Mora, MN, 55051; e-mail
wilkens@ncis.com; or call her at (320) 679-1607.
