The DNR Lake Michigan Coastal Program (LMCP) is
soliciting project proposals for use of funds that may be made
available by the federal government as part of the Coastal and
Estuarine Land Conservation Program.
Proposals are due Oct. 16 at 4:30 p.m. Central time.
The funds would come from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration’s Office of Coastal Resource Management for use in
2008. The funds would be available only to non-federal units of
government.
To be eligible, projects must occur within the Indiana Coastal
Area as shown at this link:

The Indiana LMCP can submit up to three proposals. All 34 of
state and territory coastal programs in the country have been
invited to submit proposals. The tight timeframe is the result of
the federal funding opportunity having just been posted.
Submitted proposals will be discussed Oct. 18 at the Coastal
Advisory Board meeting at the Michigan City Library, which starts at
6:15 PM.
Applications can be obtained at
www.IN.gov/dnr/lakemich
or by emailing
coastal@dnr.in.gov and requesting electronic copies. An
electronic version of all three forms plus property map and at least
one hard copy of the project proposal are required for submission.
Applications can be e-mailed to
coastal@dnr.in.gov or mailed to Lake Michigan Coastal Program;
attention: CELCP Coordinator; Indiana Department of Natural
Resources; 1600 North 25 East Chesterton, Indiana 46304.
