Frankfort, Ky. – The Kentucky National Guard’s Hidden Valley Training Area will be closed to all public access on Sunday, October 15, 2006 due to military training activities.  The closure will delay by one day the scheduled opening of archery and crossbow deer hunting on the area.

Located north of Clay City (Powell County), the property is owned by the Kentucky National Guard and used primarily for troop training exercises.  Hidden Valley was opened to the public for archery and crossbow hunting in 2005 under an agreement with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.

Following the one-day closure on October 15, the training site will open October 16 through January 15, 2007 for archery and crossbow deer hunting.
