Division of Fish and Wildlife to Hold Pre-Season Lottery
for Deer Stands, Goose Blinds on Oct. 11
The Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife will conduct its annual
pre-season lottery for deer stands and goose blinds at 9 a.m. Wednesday,
Oct. 11, in Room B240 of the Richardson & Robbins Building in Dover.
Successful applicants will be selected via a computer program and notified
within two weeks of the drawing of the outcome. Selected applicants will
receive a permit and hunting instructions in the mail for the area for which
they were chosen.
Each year the Division processes more than 1,000 applications for the
pre-season hunting selections for a scheduled day of hunting on one of
several managed hunting areas.
“The pre-season lottery is always extremely popular, because it guarantees
the selected hunters will have use of a particular deer stand and/or goose
blind on a particular date. That allows hunters to make better use of their
vacation time,” said Division Director Patrick J. Emory.
For more information about the lottery program, please call the Wildlife
Section at 302-739-9912.
