Changes In Montana State Parks Fee Rule Affect Camping
The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission is seeking public comment
on the tentative 2007 Parks Biennial Rule. Comments will be accepted through
Nov. 10.
The tentative rule would implement the FAS camping fee at three fishing
access sites including Lichen Cliff FAS and Prickley Pear FAS in the
Missouri River drainage and the Newlan Creek Reservoir FAS near White
Sulphur Springs.
Camping would no longer be provided at Johnsrud Park FAS on the Blackfoot
River near Missoula, or at Prewett Creek FAS four miles south of Cascade.
There are no daily entrance fees at FAS sites. Camping fees would remain $7
per night for fishing license holders and $12 per night for those without a
fishing license.
Other proposed minor changes would make it easier to administer fees at
Montana State Parks.
The complete tentative State Parks Fee Rule may be found on the FWP web site
at fwp.mt.gov under Public Notices.
