Grand Prizes to Close Maryland $1,000,000 Fishing Challenge
ANNAPOLIS — Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., Baltimore Orioles
legend John Wesley “Boog” Powell and tournament sponsors will close out
the 2nd Annual Maryland $1,000,000 Fishing Challenge: The Return of
Diamond Jim by awarding the tournament’s grand prizes to five lucky
anglers at the closing ceremony on Saturday, September 16 at City Dock in
Annapolis, Maryland. Additional prizes will be raffled off during the
event.

WHEN: Saturday, September 16, 2006 - 10:00 a.m.
* Angler Registration: 8:00 a.m. –
9:00 a.m.
* Pre-ceremony raffle: 9:30 a.m.
INFO: This year’s tournament ran from Saturday, June 3 through
Monday, September 4. One hundred and thirty-nine anglers from seven
different states, (five of which are minors), caught 146 certified tagged
fish and are qualified to win one of the five grand prizes. The grand
prize winners will be randomly selected at the closing ceremony. The
selection process will be announced at the event. The grand prizes to be
won are a 20-foot center console Sailfish 206CC motorboat and trailer from
Boater’s World, an 18-foot 7-inch Tracker Nitro 591 motorboat and trailer
from Bass Pro Shops, two 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 pick-up trucks from Toyota
Maryland and a chance to win $1 million sponsored by Boater’s World.
