135 Lucky Anglers Qualify To Win A Million Bucks In Maryland’s $1,000,000 Fishing Challenge

ANNAPOLIS – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Fisheries Service announced today the last of the 135 anglers who are qualifiers in the 2nd Annual Maryland $1,000,000 Fishing Challenge: The Return of Diamond Jim. The 13-week contest ended at midnight on Labor Day. The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 16, at 10:00 a.m. at City Dock in Annapolis where five grand prizes will be given away.

The grand prizes are:

	A chance at $1 million cash sponsored by Boater’s World
	A 20-foot center console Sailfish 206CC motorboat and trailer sponsored by Boater’s World
	A 18-foot 7-inch Tracker Nitro 591 motorboat and trailer sponsored by Bass Pro Shops
	Two 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 pick-up trucks sponsored by Toyota Maryland

	Mary Haviland, Baltimore, MD: striped bass, Chesapeake Beach in the Chesapeake Bay (August 20)
	Dwayne Pilkerton, Clements, MD: striped bass, near St. George's Island in the Potomac River (August 30)
	Kenneth Whitby, Centreville, MD: striped bass, Chester River in the Chesapeake Bay (September 4)
	Kirk Diehl, Arnold, MD: striped bass, Magothy River, in the Chesapeake Bay (September 4)
	Michael Bingman, Denton, MD: largemouth bass, Piney Run Reservoir (August 20)
	Sam Joiner, Chestertown, MD: striped bass, off Hodges Bar in the Chesapeake Bay (September 4)
	Thomas Maddox, Westover, MD: Atlantic croaker, Tangier Sound (July 11)
	Charles Taylor, Flintstone, MD: largemouth bass, Rocky Gap Lake (August 26)
