Muskie fishing regulations meetings announced
Tower. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is proposing
to increase the minimum length for muskellunge on Lake Vermilion in St.
Louis County. A public input open house will be held on September 19, 2006,
from 6 pm to 8 pm in the conference room at the DNR Office Building, 650
Hwy. 169, Tower, Minnesota, to give people an opportunity to learn more
about the proposed regulation and to comment on the proposal. A 10-day
public comment period, during which the public will be able to provide
written comments, will follow the open house and will terminate on September
29, 2006.
The following muskellunge regulation change proposal will be open for
comment:
Lake Vermilion in St. Louis County - increase muskellunge minimum length
limit from 40 inches to 48 inches.
A similar public input open house will also be held in the DNR Central
Office Building in St. Paul, MN, from 8 am to 4:30 pm, on September 29,
2006, for the same regulation proposal. A 10-day public comment period,
during which the public will be able to provide written comments, will
follow the meeting. The public comment period for the open house in St. Paul
will terminate on October 9, 2006.
