Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources News Release Salato Wildlife Education Center Honors Scouts August 31, 2006 Frankfort, Ky. – Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts have provided years of support and regular visitation to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ Salato Wildlife Education Center. To recognize the contributions that scouts have made to outdoors education, the Salato Center is offering its own series of special events from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. Scouts and everyone else interested in the outdoors are welcome to come and enjoy the day with the Salato Center staff. Visitors can shoot a bow, throw a tomahawk, talk with a biologist and go on a nature hike. We will have wildlife trivia and scavenger hunts. Pack a lunch and go fishing in one of our stocked lakes. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. The Center is closed on Mondays and state holidays. -30-
