Frankfort, Ky. – Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife officials are advising website users who may have downloaded a map of the Lee K. Nelson Wildlife Management Area (WMA) prior to August 25 to discard it and re-visit the website for an accurate version.

Neighboring landowners recently brought the mapping error to the department’s attention and corrections were made promptly. A new map is now available online in printable form.

The 60-acre Nelson WMA is located two miles from Dixon, off Hobart Gardner Road in Webster County. The area provides deer, turkey and small game hunting under statewide regulations, as well as small-pond fishing opportunities. The WMA is named for a former department biologist who donated the tract to Kentucky Fish and Wildlife for public use and enjoyment.

Information about the Lee K. Nelson WMA and other public wildlife areas is available online at fw.ky.gov.
