DNR to hold public meetings on proposed special fishing regulations for three Cass County lakes

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will be holding two public input meetings on special fishing regulations for Mule, Ox Yoke and Sanborn lakes. The meetings are open to the public and will follow an open house format to allow the public to have one-on-one discussion with Fisheries representatives.

Ox Yoke and Sanborn Lakes

The open house for Ox and Sanborn lakes will collect public input on whether to maintain, modify, or drop the 10 sunfish limit. The open house will take place on Aug. 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hackensack Senior Citizen Center, 213 1st St. S. in Hackensack.

Mule Lake

The open house for Mule Lake will collect public input on a proposal to reduce the walleye possession limit from six to three fish. The open house will take place on Sept. 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wabedo Town Hall, 3726 County Rd. 54 in Longville.

Written comments may be submitted at the public meetings or by mail any time before 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 15 for any of these proposed regulations. Written comments should be mailed to DNR Area Fisheries, 07316 State Hwy. 371 NW, Walker, MN 56484.

For more information on these proposals, call the Walker DNR Fisheries office at (218) 547-1683.
