ASK THE GAME & FISH

Q. "How do I participate in your Cutt-Slam records program?"

A. It’s simple. Just catch the four subspecies of Wyoming’s cutthroat trout, (Yellowstone, Snake River, Bonneville and Colorado) from waters in their native range. Take pictures of the fish, (most anglers release their catch after the photos and in some waters regulations require release of fish). Submit photos along with info on date and location of the catch. The Cutt-Slam program is not a records program, but instead a program designed to draw attention to Wyoming’s cutthroat trout and their management. Persons who catch all four subspecies are awarded a certificate featuring color artwork of all four subspecies. The certificate is printed with the angler’ s name and the date and location of each catch. Information on the Cutt-Slam is on page 9 of the fishing regulations, the Game and Fish Web site at http://gf.state.wy.us, or you can contact any Game and Fish office for a flyer giving information on the program and waters where these fish are found.
