WYOMING GAME AND FISH TO AIR ON OUTDOOR CHANNEL IN JULY

CHEYENNE - Tune into conservation education this summer when the Wyoming Game and Fish Department hits the airwaves in July on the Outdoor Channel’s Fish and Wildlife Journal television show.

A segment featuring the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s annual youth conservation camp will air Wednesday, July 5 at 2 p.m. MST and Saturday, July 8 at 8 p.m. MST.

The segment focuses on the annual conservation camp hosted by Game and Fish each August for youth ages 15-18. Students spend a week at the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp outside of Dubois, participating in hands-on skill activities such as canoeing, outdoor survival, habitat education and fly tying.

"The conservation camp is truly a one-of-a-kind experience for a younger generation to spend a week enjoying the outdoors and learning about wildlife, conservation and outdoor ethics," says Game and Fish Director Terry Cleveland. "We’re excited to show viewers across the country how the Wyoming Game and Fish is educating the next generation of hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts."

Fish and Wildlife Journal is a magazine-style show produced in cooperation with the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, which represents all 50 state fish and wildlife agencies and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The program highlights wildlife management agencies’ activities, programs, events, issues and participation opportunities for the nation’s sportsmen and women.

"This program is a great opportunity for wildlife agencies to show hunters and anglers just how our management strategies and education efforts contribute to their success in the field," says Cleveland.
