| 6/19/2006 Sac-Wilcox Refuge to be Discussed at June 28 Meeting in Wilcox - Tom Keith Wilcox, Neb. -- The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will conduct a public information meeting 7-9 p.m., June 28, at the Lion’s Hall in downtown Wilcox, to discuss the status of the game refuge on the Sacramento-Wilcox Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Phelps County. Currently, 500 acres of the Sacramento-Wilcox WMA, located two miles west of Wilcox, are designated as refuge where hunting of all game species is prohibited. The purpose of the meeting is to solicit public comment regarding the necessity or purpose of the refuge. Comments supporting seasonal changes to public use of the refuge or the continuance of the refuge are welcome.
