Free concerts coming to Whitewater Memorial State Park July 1 and 2

Two musical events, one Christian rock, the other rock and roll, are coming to Whitewater Memorial State Park’s Whitewater Amphitheater as part of Independence Day weekend celebrations.

Christian rock recording artist Tom Stroh’s two-hour show hits the park stage Saturday, July 1. The next night, rock and roll artists the B.R.E.B. Band will play a two-hour show. Both concerts start at 8 p.m. Guests may bring lawn chairs and blankets, though limited bench seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. The events may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Admission to both performances is free; however, regular park entrance fees will be required for all vehicles entering the property. Friday through Sunday rates are $5 per in-state vehicle. The out-of-state rate is $7 every day.

The park is located at 1418 S. State Road 101 in Liberty. The amphitheater is located next to the park’s naturalist cabin.

For more information, please call Stephanie Ison or Brooke Barnhizer at the Mound State Recreation Area office (765) 647-2657 or at the naturalist cabin, (765) 458-6778.
