June 10 Is Kids' Fishing FunFest in Montgomery

The Capital City Kiwanis Club, Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department, and the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division are sponsoring their annual Kids’ Fishing FunFest on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Pete Peterson Lodge - Lagoon Park in Montgomery. The event is open to all kids between the ages of 5 and 15 who are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

A morning session (8 a.m. to 11 a.m.) and an afternoon session (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.) will be held, but kids may only participate in one of the two sessions. No tickets will be distributed this year; therefore, anyone wishing to participate must call 358-0035 to register on a first-come, first-served basis.

All kids should bring a rod, reel, and bait. Those wanting to keep their fish should also bring a stringer and ice chest.
