| 5/24/2006 Statewide Waterfowl Summit to be Held June 3 MARSHALLTOWN - The Waterfowl Association of Iowa will hold its second annual Iowa Waterfowl Summit on Saturday, June 3 at Marshalltown's Fisher Community Center. The summit begins at 9 am. The purpose of the summit is to inform Iowa duck and goose hunters on issues affecting waterfowling as to give hunters an opportunity to discuss these topics with personnel from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, said Waterfowl Association secretary, Jeremy Rosonke. Public programs will focus on results of national and state duck hunter surveys, avian influenza, Ducks Unlimited habitat programs, prairie pothole joint venture activities, and wildlife budget issues. "We had a very good turnout for last year's summit, and are hoping for even better attendance at this event," said DNR waterfowl technician, Alan Hancock. "This year's agenda offers some very highly educational programs that just aren't available elsewhere. The information presented will be of interest to waterfowlers everywhere. I think everyone who attends will be very pleased with they learn," said Hancock. For additional information on this year's Waterfowl Summit contact Jeremy Rosonke at 641-330-7486.
