DNR to Commemorate
Patapsco as Maryland's First State Park
On Tuesday, May 23 at 10:00 a.m., the Maryland Park Service will hold a
special event and plaque dedication ceremony in recognition of Patapsco
Valley State Park as Maryland’s first state park. In 1907, Catonsville
resident John Glenn donated 43 acres of his Hilton Estate to the Maryland
State Board of Forestry, laying the seeds for what would become the first
state park. Members of the public are invited to attend. For more
