Anglers, Report Tagged Fish

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has started a statewide fish tagging study.

The study will look at angler exploitation and will involve tagging rainbow trout, crappie, smallmouth and largemouth bass. The study will rely on anglers to return the tags, some of which will have rewards. Tagged fish will be planted in all seven regions by the end of June.

Anglers are encouraged to report tags on the toll-free hotline: 866-258-0338; online at: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/apps/fishtag/ and they should send reward tags to: Fish Tag Returns, 1414 E Locust Lane, Nampa, ID 83686.

Anglers also can report the tags at any regional Fish and Game office. The most important information from angler is: tag number, whether the fish was kept and a contact phone number.
