CHEYENNE - Resident deer hunters are alerted the season dates and quotas for areas 165-171 were omitted from the recently printed summary map.

The omission is particularly important for all prospective area 165 (southeast of Cody) and area 171 type 1 (white-tailed deer only on deeded land in the Wind River Indian Reservation) hunters. These licenses are limited quota and applications must be received at the Game and Fish Department’s Cheyenne Office by 5 p.m. May 31.

Areas 167-169 are entirely general license and resident hunters can purchase general licenses over the counter through the end of the season.

The omitted seasons and quotas follow:

         2   Oct. 15 Nov. 7 Limited quota; 50 licenses any white-tailed deer
              Nov. 8 Nov. 15 Unused Area 165 Type 2 licenses valid for antlerless white-tailed deer

168         Oct. 1 Oct. 8 General license; antlered deer
169         Oct. 15 Oct. 21 General license; antlered mule deer 4 points or more either antler or any white-tailed deer
              Nov. 1 Nov. 15 General license; any white-tailed deer
171         Oct. 15 Oct. 31 General license; any deer
         1   Nov. 1 Nov. 20 Limited quota; 25 licenses any white-tailed deer

The areas were inadvertently left off the end of the area list on the 2006 summary map. The areas will be listed on the larger format deer regulations, which will be available in June.

The Game and Fish apologizes for any confusion or inconvenience this omission may have caused.
